Typhoon Sendong hit Cagayan de Oro and nearby areas and cities. Properties can be replaced, but those poor fellows, mostly women and children cannot be brought back again after Typhoon Sendong ceased their precious lives.
There are many different ways to assist those affected by Typhoon Sendong (International name: Washi). Many people are devastated and are in dire need of help. Please share your blessings for this Christmas season to help them. You will surely blessed a thousand folds.
A Prayer for the victims of Typhoon Sendong
God our Father, you have created us and everything around us, including typhoon Sendong that just wrought havoc to our brothers and sisters in the Philippines.
We come before you today, oh Father, to ask from you the humility of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to submit to your will, just as he did when he went into agony in the Garden, and accept the aftermath of typhoon Sendong to ourselves and to our countrymen.
We also come before you today, of Father, to ask from you the compassion of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that we may be instruments of your love and care to those who survived typhoon Sendong and live another day.
Finally, oh Father, we ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to inflame the spirits of those who are in the front line of helping those who are suffering from hunger and thirst after typhoon Sendong. May their physical, mental and emotional energies receive in abundance the power that comes from your almightiness.
The full meaning of typhoon Sendong may escape many of us now. But let there be brotherhood and unity and recognition that we are mere mortals, and that life is a privilege you have granted us here and now.
